Electric Vehicle Charger Installation
Congratulations, you are now the proud owner of an Electric Vehicle.
Now the question is... How do you charge it?

There are several factors to consider when it comes to home charging:
-
Location of the charger (in the garage, outside the house or close to the panel)
-
Type of charger unit (hardwired, plug-in)
-
Power requirements (60amp, 50amp, 40amp)
-
Vehicle requirements (per the manufacturer)

Location
For standard installs we place your EV charger in the garage near the electrical panel. This is key because the closer the unit is to the panel, the more affordable the install. Other considerations may be: vehicle parking location, security issues, environmental/physical location and cord tripping hazards. For upgraded or premium installs we can place your EV charger in the location of your choice.
Hardwired vs Plug-in
For most standard installs we recommend a hard wired charger (as recommended by your EV manufacturer) to ensure maximum compatibility and provide additional features. Plug-in chargers are more affordable but have different requirements.
Power Requirements
The #1 most overlooked consideration is the size (amps) required of the EV charger. Many companies are quick to throw out numbers, but the problem is you might not have that much available. During our on-site appointment, we inspect your electrical panel, conduct a load calculation and determine the optimal size for your home.
